A 90 minute Explore Class discussing this early work of the Russian master. Tchaikovsky is much better known of course for his orchestral works, but he left a small body of chamber music, including this quartet which features one of his most famous and successful creations in its second movement. Hard up and desperate for recognition and income, he composed the work to order in a short space of time and it became an instant hit. All particpants will receive a PDF copy of the score.
