A 90 minute Explore Class exploring Louise Farrenc’s First Piano Quintet. This great pioneering pianist, teacher and composer of nineteenth century Paris left a stunning catalogue of music which has been overlooked for too long. Drawing on a rich legacy of Beethoven and incorporating the influence of Chopin and Mendelssohn, this quintet is a delight from start to finish and deserves to be better known.
